Sat. 14 & Sun. 15 June | Alpine Multi-Pitch Course Specifically for Women (Beginner/Refresher Course)
Wiwannihütte (VS) – Girls Weekend
Do you want to learn the basics and gain more confidence in multi-pitch climbing, all in a setting with like-minded women? This course offers you an introduction or a refresher on your multi-pitch climbing skills . You'll learn the most important fundamentals in an encouraging and supportive environment.
Course schedule
After arriving in Visp in the canton of Valais, we first drive to the nearby village of Ausserberg and then continue to the Fuxtritt car park. From there, a climb of approximately 1.5 hours awaits us. Arriving at the Wiwanni Hut, we deposit our gear and check into our accommodation. After a break in the hut and a short climb, we reach the rock face. Here, we focus on the theoretical and practical fundamentals of multi-pitch climbing. Back at the hut, we enjoy the evening with a magnificent view of the Valais' 4,000-meter peaks. We also plan the multi-pitch route for the following day.
On Sunday, we'll ascend, depending on the route we've chosen, toward the Wiwanni or Augstkummenhorn. Following the "learning by doing" principle, we'll gradually approach multi-pitch climbing. Depending on the route, we'll descend by abseiling or via a simple ridge. Back at the Wiwanni Hut, we'll refuel before hiking back to Fuxtritt and driving to Visp.
